The Waterville Airport had been the basis for local aviation since the 1950’s and existed as an airstrip used for military training before that time. Its closure on the 1st of April of 2016 has changed the aviation scene in the Annapolis Valley dramatically.
There was a concerted effort to save the airport from destruction in the period of 2012 thru 2015 by a Taskforce organized by the AVFA but that failed. The airport should not be forgotten so the AVFA website will host some of the history of the Airport and the effort to stave off its demise.
Some pages on the Waterville Airport (know as CCW3) are:
- The Waterville Airport information for aviators
- The History of Waterville Airport
- The Reports and Events during the Taskforce Efforts to save CCW3.
